Copper dropped as U.S. tariffs on Chinese goods kicked in, escalating the trade spat between the world's top two economies.
China's output of refined copper in June dipped 3.3% on the month but rose 10.5% on the year and came in at 722,500 mt.
Copper inventories in warehouses monitored by the Shanghai Futures Exchange fell 2.0 percent from last Friday, the exchange said.
