Menthaoil trading range for the day is 1254.1-1283.5. Mentha oil spot at Sambhal closed at 1406.10 per 1kg. Spot prices was up by Rs.2.90/-. Mentha oil gained due to pick up in demand from consuming industries in the domestic spot market. Furthermore, tight stocks position following restricted arrivals from major producing belts of Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh also supported prices uptrend.Total global production stood at around 48,000 tonnes, out of which India produces between 30,000-40,000 tonnes.
